Are the relations between India and United States of America worsening?

To answer this question, we must go back a bit in the history. The India US relations have been sour and sweet since India's Independence. But for most of the part, they didn't have good relations with each other. 

It is after the 1992 LPG reforms in India that US recognized India as a big market and started friendly relations with India, followed by the nuclear deal in early 2000s. And during the Presidentship of Barak Obama, the relations between these countries achieved new heights. But when we look at the present crises of Russia and Ukraine, things seem to be uneasy and at the diplomatic level, USA has warned India to be ready to face consequences if India didn't condemn Russia. To this, India remained unaffected and maintained its neutral stance. Moreover, it purchased the discounted Russian oil to meet its domestic demands, and Russia is the topmost supplier of crude oil to India in present times. 

As India, didn't change its stance under the pressure of USA and west, it seemed problematic to USA at first, but then USA accepted it and even lauded the Indian diplomacy to prioritize own needs in the times of crises. 

When we see categorically, USA's all actions are profit orientated. It goes only the path, which seems profitable to it.

Here also, USA is not lauding India out of goodwill but it has its own agenda of maintaining strategic alliance with India to contain the rise of China in Indo- pacific. 

It is only due to this sole reason that USA is taking a soft stance against India.
